LOCATION CHANGE FOR 5^TH-8^TH GR. BASKETBALL

The Boys and Girls 5^th-8^th grade games scheduled for Friday night (1-27) 5:30-8:30 are NOT going to be played at Christ Lutheran School in North St. Paul.  They will be played at Salem Stillwater School instead.  Directions and maps are on the Athletics website.  Thanks, Jeff Ray

NWEA Winter MAP Testing Coming Up

We are coming upon our winter MAP testing period during the weeks of February 6^th-February 24^th.  We need volunteers to help proctor the tests.  Even if you have never been a proctor before, you are welcome to help!  If you are able to volunteer at any time during this testing period, please contact Mrs. Sovine at administrator@bethanyacademy.org with the times in which you are available to help.  There is a testing schedule along with this fast news to help you determine which days and times would work for you.

Bethany Academy has a new prayer group beginning via E- Mail. If you would like to  pray for BA and its immediate community please contact Mary Lechtenberg at mclechtenberg@earthlink.net with your email address. If you had been a participant in the “prayer chain” originally started by Cindy McCabe, please notify Mary if you would like to continue to receive E-Prayer requests.

BA Community Board

Do you have an item to sell, a business to advertise, information on a particularly great speaker or event?  Now via the BA Community Bulletin Board you can reach the greater Bethany community.   

What is a BA Bulletin Board?  The BA Bulletin Board is a community board where Bethany families can have access to the greater Bethany community to sell items, advertise their business, look for babysitters and much more. Yes, we can also post pictures. This vehicle works much like fastnews. 

Who will receive this information?  Only families who sign-up via Edline will receive BA Bulletin Board postings directly into their email account.  The BA board at large is viewable to everyone through Edline. ( But if you don’t sign up you might miss some great opportunities.)

When will this new opportunity begin? February 13th. The BA Bulletin board will be updated on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month.

How do I post an item or event? 

• If you have a posting, please email Rosey at development@bethanyacademy.org one week in advance of the date you wish to have it appear. 
• The subject line of your email note should read  BA Board posting.
•  The body of your email should include exact wording for your post.  Do not forget to answer the questions Who, What, Where, When and How much. If you’re selling an item don’t forget to attach a  picture to your email.

How do I sign-up to receive BA Bulletin Board news directly to my email account?

1. Go to bethanyacademy.org and click on Edline
2. Click on the Bethany Academy Community Board link on the right hand side of the page under Links.
3. On the the right hand side of the BA Bulletin Board page will be an opportunity to be updated every time there is a new posting.  Click on this link.
4. Type in your email address.  You will receive a confirmation email. Once you receive your confirmation email you will need to follow the link provided to activate your account. You are now signed up to receive community bulletin board information.

Today, January 24 we kicked off Spirit Week at Bethany Academy! It’s a fun week full of crazy outfits, class competions, Basketball games, a pep fest, social events and ROOT BEER FLOATS! You can order a Root Beer Float for your student in Grades K-12 which will be delivered to them  on Friday, January 27.  Join in the fun and festivities.  Click Here to get your order form.  Order deadline is Wednesday.

Homecoming/Alumni Night Bake Sale

Our homecoming games are Friday night with the Boys C team at 3:45, the Boys JV at 5:00, the Girls Varsity at 6:30, and the Boys Varsity at 8:00.  While you are here enjoying the games, make your bake sale purchases in the lobby before heading into the gym to cheer on the Eagles.  Two great experiences in one night—how sweet it is!  See you all at the games!

Scrip Order

It’s not to late to place your Scrip order for this week. Since there was no school today we will be placing our order tomorrow Tuesday, January 24th.  Your cards will still be available for       pick-up on Thursday, January 26th by 3pm.  We also have Cub, Holiday, Kwik Trip and Walmart cards in the office for same day purchase.

Open House Prayer Opportunity

Tomorrow night is our K-12 Open House. Please pray for good travel conditions,  the parent and student speakers, teachers, staff,  and most importanly the visiting families!

LUNCH THYME

Lunch Thyme will not be serving lunch to our 7-12 grade students on Thursday or Friday during finals. If you ordered and paid for lunches for these days, please deduct that amount from your February lunch order check. 

Student Council, VEAP & Kids Against Hunger; Homecoming 2012; Spirit Week

Thank You!

A huge thank you from the Student Council for your December food donations to VEAP and change donations for Kids Against Hunger! We were able to donate 150 pounds of food to VEAP in time for the holidays.  The elementary had a change drive for Kids Against Hunger in December as well so in total, Bethany raised $437.79 to help feed the hungry in Haiti.  Thank you, Bethany Academy Community, for “doing unto the least of these”!  

Homecoming 2012  “A Night on Ice”

Bethany Academy Homecoming 2012 is just around the corner!  We will welcome home our alumni at the JV and Varsity basketball games on Friday, January 27.  Come out and help us cheer the Eagles on to victory!  There will also be events for the 7-8th graders and for the 9-12th graders on Saturday, January 28. Invitations for the 9-12th Homecoming event have gone out in the mail, and parents of 7-8th graders will be receiving an email with further details very soon!

Basketball Pictures, Cheerleaders plus Gr. 5-8

Basketball season has begun and with that comes your athlete’s portraits that you all enjoy.   The rest of the sports team pictures are being taken next week!  Please have your child wear their full uniform to practice on their scheduled picture day.

 Monday 1-16 – At Bethany Gym

      Cheerleading – 1pm at the beginning of practice in the gym 

 Tuesday 1-17 – At the Fellowship during practice

      Girls Basketball – 5th-6th & 7th-8th

      Boys Basketball – 5th-6th & 7th-8th

Scrip Order Will Be Placed Monday, January 9th

Happy 2012!  In just  3 months the Bethany Academy Scrip program has brought in $1,653.00.  We are so thankful for the opportunity to use this vehicle as a means to raise our $800 per family fundraising goal without spending one single cent unnecessarily.  Thank you for participating in this program.  Read below for changes to our ordering process.

1. Order dates for January will be Monday, January 9th and January 23rd.  We will return to ordering on the 1st  and 3rd Monday’s of the month in February.
2. Beginning  January 12th, Bethany Academy will  host a small inventory of the following cards in the office. These cards will be available on a first come first serve basis.   If you purchase one or more of these cards we will track your contribution to the school manually.
